Mumbai, November 12: We have always heard that cricket is a gentleman's game, and boys play it. Girls have been mocked and made fun of when they have shown their interest in the game. Star Sports in their latest ad for this year's  ICC Women's World T20, addresses this issue, and highlights that cricket is a gender neutral game. The ad narrates the story of a girl who wants to play crickets, but society and people around her ignore her existence, and doesn't pay any heed to her wish. The film which has garnered more than 2.4 million views on YouTube is shot in Kashmir, and it talks about the challenges and the stereotypes, which she overcomes to achieve success.

The 'Ab inka balla bolega' highlights that anyone can achieve success, if they are provided with the right platform. The story takes the audience through the struggle which many girls go through, from being picked in the local Sunday team or getting the opportunity to play, girls are often neglected, despite possessing the skills to compete with boys.

The Indian women’s team, led by Harmanpreet Kaur, faced New Zealand in their opening game of the tournament on November 9. Besides New Zealand, Australia, Ireland and traditional rival Pakistan are the other teams pitted in the same group as India.
