Anup Ghoshal, Veteran Singer-Composer, Dies at 78

Anup's first cinematic foray into playback singing arrived at the age of 19, when he sang for Satyajit Ray's iconic Goopy Gyne Bagha Byne. Later, he went on to lend his voice to various Bengali and Hindi films, also gracing Bhojpuri and Assamese cinema with his talent.

Indian playback singer-composer, Anup Ghoshal, passed away today at the age of 78. Known in his native Bengal primarily as one of the foremost artists of the 'golden age of Nazrulgeeti,' Anup's cause of death is not yet known.
