According to reports, the incident occurred today, July 5, outside the Ludhiana Civil Hospital in Punjab. A video of the alleged assault has also gone viral on social media. The viral clip shows members of "Nihang Sikhs" allegedly assaulting Sandeep Thapar with swords in broad daylight in Ludhiana. Thapar is also a descendant of Indian Freedom fighter and martyr Sukhdev Thapar. His condition is said to be serious. Meanwhile, the police have registered an FIR and began an investigation in connection with the incident.
