Mitchell Starc was once again the undoing of Pakistan as the Aussie Pacer took his 12th five-wicket haul in the first innings of ongoing Australia vs Pakistan 2nd Test 2019. He continued his form from the first match where he took a total of seven wickets and helped Australia win the match by an innings and five runs.

David Warner scored his maiden triple hundred, which was also the fourth-fastest triple century in Test cricket and the first since Karun Nair's feat against England in December 2016. Warner's triple hundred was also the first for a left-handed batsman after Kumar Sangakkara in 2014. Warner, 33 also went past Australian greats Don Bradman and Mark Taylor with his 335 runs.

Steve Smith broke more than 50 years old record of becoming the fastest batsman to score 7000 runs. This record was previously held by English batsman Walter Hammond who took 131 innings to score 7000 runs. Smith achieved 7000 runs in just 126 innings.

Australia won the toss and elected to bat first. The day’s play was, however, delayed by rain. Nevertheless, the game started soon and opener Joe Burns was dismissed cheaply. Labuschagne came to bat at number three and since then it was a one-sided show. The likes of Mohammed Musa and Imran Khan proved to be completely ineffective and faced the hammering.

Labuschagne’s second ton of his Test career and that too in consecutive innings. Before this, the right-handed batsman registered 185 runs in the opening game and played a crucial role in guiding his side to victory by an innings and 65 runs. The youngster has extended his good run and played a magnificent knock in Adelaide too.
