Mumbai, Jan 24 (PTI): The Czech motorcycle brand Jawa, which is being marketed by the Mahindra group-promoted Classic Legends, Thursday opened four dealerships across the Mumbai metropolitan region ahead of the deliveries in March.

Jawa has received good response through online bookings, Anupam Thareja, co-founder of Classic Legends said adding the deliveries will begin from March.

Mahindra & Mahindra subsidiary Classic Legends last November re-launched Jawa bikes with a 293-cc single-cylinder engine based on the one Mahindra Mojo platform.

The Mahindras own 60 percent in Classic Legends, the Rustomjee Group and Phi Capital Management also hold rest in the joint venture.

Other Jawa dealerships are spread across Delhi-NCR, Pune, Bengaluru, Nashik and Dehradun, and the company has plans to launch 100 dealerships by mid-February. ************** Ginger opens first property in Srinagar

Ginger, the budget arm the Taj group of hotels has signed its first hotel in Srinagar. This will be its second hotel in Jammu & Kashmir, after Ginger Katra.

With the addition of this hotel, the Indian Hotels Company will have four hotels across its brands Vivanta and Ginger in Jammu & Kashmir, Ginger said Thursday.

Ginger Srinagar will have 64 rooms including nine suites and the hotel is a management contract and is slated to commence operations in 2019. **************

NCDEX inks pact with Irma

The National Commodity & Derivatives Exchange (NCDEX) has signed an agreement with the Institute of Rural Management Anand (Irma), to create awareness about commodity trading among the farmers and students.

Under the agreement, they will offer mentoring sessions, handholding and leadership development to market ecosystem stakeholders to spread awareness about commodity markets with an emphasis on derivative markets.
