Noida (UP), Jul 21 (PTI) Uttar Pradesh's Gautam Buddh Nagar district on Tuesday recorded 52 new COVID-19 patients, as its tally of coronavirus cases rose to 4,293, official data showed.
The number of active COVID-19 cases, however, stood at 979 in the district as 74 more patients got discharged after treatment since Monday, according to the data released by the UP Health Department for a 24-hour period.
The death toll in Gautam Buddh Nagar, adjoining Delhi, stands at 40, with a mortality rate of 0.93 per cent among coronavirus positive patients, according to official statistics.
So far, 3,274 COVID-19 patients have got discharged from hospitals in Gautam Buddh Nagar, the highest for any district in the state, the data showed.
The recovery rate of patients here improved slightly to 76.26 per cent from 75.21 per cent on Monday, it added.
Gautam Buddh Nagar currently has the second highest number of overall positive cases of COVID-19 in the state after Lucknow (4,503), showed the data updated till 3 pm of Monday.
However, in terms of active patients, Lucknow (2,861) has the maximum cases followed by Kanpur Nagar (1,301), Ghaziabad (1,282), and Gautam Buddh Nagar (979), it added.
