Mandi (Himachal Pradesh) [India], September 1 (ANI): Two alleged drug peddlers were arrested with 3.406 kg of charas and 106 grams of opium near Paplok village in Mandi district, police said.

The District Police took to their social media handle on 'X' and said, "PS Sarkaghat team recovered 3.406 kg of Charas and 106 grams of Opium from two persons near Paplog, Sarkaghat. Case FIR No. 159/23 has been registered at Sarkaghat Police Station and further investigation of the case is in progress."

Earlier, the Border Security Force (BSF) seized over six kilograms of narcotics concealed inside a battery case near the International border in Punjab’s Gurdaspur.

The seizure was made in the Dostpur village on Tuesday evening, BSF said in a press release.

Based on specific information regarding the presence of a concealed consignment of narcotics ahead of the border fence, a search operation was conducted by BSF troops in the bordering area near the village of Dostpur, the statement said.

During the search, troops recovered six packets of narcotics suspected to be heroin (approximately 6.3 kg) and one packet of suspected opium (approximately 70 grams), concealed inside a 12-volt battery and kept in the vicinity of the international border, ahead of border fencing. (ANI)
