Patna (Bihar) [India], October 18 (ANI): President Droupadi Murmu visited Takhat Sri Harmandir Ji Patna Saheb, the birthplace of the tenth Sikh Guru, Guru Gobind Singh Ji, on Wednesday.
She paid obeisance and sought blessings at the holy shrine.

"President Droupadi Murmu paid obeisance at the Takhat Sri Harimandir ji Patna Sahib during the first day of her visit to Bihar," her office posted on X.
Inderjit Singh, General Secretary of Takhat Sri Harmandir Ji Patna Saheb, said that the President's visit is a matter of great honour for the Sikh community.
He said, "It is delightful that President Droupadi Murmu arrived at Takhat Sri Harmandir Ji Patna Saheb to pay obeisance and seek blessings. She also listened to the kirtan for about 15 minutes."
The President also listened to the kirtan (devotional singing) for about 15 minutes.
The President's visit to Takhat Sri Harmandir Ji Patna Saheb is a significant gesture of respect and goodwill towards the Sikh community. It also highlights the importance of religious tolerance and pluralism in India. (ANI)
