Bathinda (Punjab) [India], April 23 (ANI): Two children were killed and another suffered severe injuries in a fire that broke out after a domestic gas cylinder explosion at a slum in Punjab's Bathinda in the early hours of Tuesday, officials said.

According to Bathinda Municipal Commissioner Rahul, two children aged six and seven years died, and another was injured in the fire that erupted due to the explosion of LPG gas cylinders. The incident occurred in a slum in Bathinda.

The official said that the fire spread to 10 slums in the Oriya Colony of Bathinda in Punjab. "Following the blast, four other cylinders in close proximity also exploded at the site," the Municipal Commissioner added.

He further said that the administration has prepared a report about the incident, and the affected families will be provided with compensation and financial help from the relief fund.

The victim families have been shifted to a night shelter as an alternate arrangement.
