Fatehpur (UP), Jul 6 (PTI) An undertrial lodged at Uttar Pradesh's Fatehpur district jail has died, a official said on Tuesday.
Ramdin (73), a resident of Chitisapur village in the Hussainganj police station area, was admitted to the jail hospital for treatment after he complained of stomachache.
When he did not get relief, he was shifted to the district hospital, where the doctors declared him dead on Monday night, Jail Superintendent Mohammad Akram said.
Ramdin was in the jail for the the past three years in a case of culpable homicide not amounting to murder.
The post-mortem examination of the body is being done to know the real cause of his death, the official added.
