Amravati, Jul 21 (PTI) The number of COVID-19 cases increased by 68 to 1,416 in Amravati district of Maharashtra on Tuesday, health officials said.

With a 40-year-old woman succumbing to the infection in the last 24 hours, the death toll has reached 42 in the district.

Two cases have been reported from Chikhaldara, a famous hill station in Vidarbha region, which had remained unaffected so far.

With 34 patients getting discharged in the day in the district, the number of recovered cases mounted to 898, leaving 476 active cases.
