Hyderabad, Jul 11 (PTI) Observing that about 200 American companies are already operating in sectors such as IT, pharma and defence in Hyderabad, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Friday said the state government is working to boost further people-to-people exchange and trade ties between Telangana and the US.

Speaking at the America Independence Day celebrations here Friday evening, he said the spirit of Telangana is similar to the ethos of America of not accepting defeat and making a positive difference.

While Hyderabad is home to nearly 200 US companies from various sectors, many students from Telangana are also going to America to fulfil their dreams, he said.

"We are working to increase our people-to-people exchange to grow America, Telangana businesses," he said.

The state government is working towards the “TelanganaRising” vision to achieve a USD 1 trillion economy by 2035 and a USD 3 trillion economy by 2047, the CM said, seeking the support of Americans to achieve the target.

The friendly ties between Telugu people and America are very strong, and Telugu is one of the fastest growing languages in the US, he said.

The CM further said that the US Consulate in Hyderabad, headed by Jennifer Larson, acts as a strong bridge between Telangana and America in strengthening trade relations.
