Prayagraj (UP), Oct 14 (PTI) A 50-year-old man was allegedly shot dead by his relative on Saturday morning in the Jhunsi area here, police said.

Jhunsi SHO Upendra Pratap Singh said Satyapal Bharatiya was allegedly shot in the head by his distant relative Shiv Kumar alias Nanka Bharatiya at Chhatnag in Jhunsi.

The victim died on the spot and the accused fled after the incident, Singh said.

Kumar's motorbike was found lying at the crime spot, the SHO said.

Based on a complaint by the deceased's kin, a case was registered against the accused and efforts are on to nab him, he added.

The body has been sent for post-mortem, the police said.
