New Delhi, Aug 8 (PTI) A 34-year-old man, wanted for over two years in an attempt to murder case, has been arrested in south Delhi, police said in Thursday.

Accused Hemchand is a resident of Mangolpuri and has already served a 17-year prison sentence in the Kunjum Budhiraja murder case, they added.

"On Wednesday, police got a tip-off and laid a trap under Moti Bagh flyover near metro station and arrested the accused at 9.45 pm," Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Ram Gopal Naik said.

A complaint was filed against Hemchand for attacking a person with a knife following an argument in Mangolpuri on January 23, 2017, a senior officer said.

During interrogation, he disclosed that he was a murder convict and had served 17 years in prison for killing Kunjam Budhiraja in Mehrauli, he said.
