Kathmandu, Jul 10 (PTI) The Indian Embassy here on Thursday organised a prayer ceremony on the occasion of Ashadha Purnima, also known as Guru Purnima.
Monks and representatives from Theravada, Mahayana and Bajrayana traditions of Buddhism from monasteries across Nepal took part in the prayer ceremony.

The programme was organised at the embassy premises.
"The sacred chants and prayers honoured Lord Buddha's first sermon at Sarnath, highlighting the deep spiritual and cultural ties between India and Nepal,” the Indian Embassy said in a press release.
