Taapsee Pannu plays the main lead in this week's thriller, Game Over. The movie is directed by Ashwin Saravanan and is made in Tamil and Telugu, with a version dubbed in Hindi. Ashwin Saravanan had earlier directed the thrilling Maya in Kollywood, and going by how his earlier film turned out to be, expectations are really high for Ashwin to do an incredible encore. We are going watching Game Over right now and here's what we have to say about the first half. Taapsee Pannu's Style File for Game Over Promotions was a Mixed Affair and That's It (View Pics).

"A serial killer is hounding and killing single girls brutally in the outskirts of Gurugram. And his latest victim is Swapna, a gamer who work from her house. But before that Game Over does something that horror films usually don't do - give the lead character a personality that you really make her empathise with. The first half is dedicated in setting her character right, from her obsession with videogames, her relationship with her maid and Girl Friday Kalamma and the reason behind her PTSD.

While it is only around the interval point that Game Over becomes a home invasion movie, the first half is riveting thanks to the mystery surrounding Taapsee's character. There are some fine performances from the cast, especially from Taapsee who still suffers from the memories of a harrowing experience she had on New Year's Eve a year back. With the killer now trained his eyes on a physically challenged Swapna, it would be interesting to see how she manages to not get to the Game Over screen in her own life."
