Actor Stoney Westmoreland, who plays the grandfather in Disney's Andi Mack, has been fired by the channel after he was arrested by the police in Salt Lake City. A statement of the same has been shared by Disney as reports of Stoney's criminal behaviour came out in the public.
Stoney Westmoreland, 48, has been accused of soliciting and trying to entice a 13-year-old for sex. A probable cause affidavit states that the actor used a dating app to chat with a person he believed to be a 13-year-old boy. The affidavit also states that Westmoreland used the app to send explicit pictures through the app and tried to arrange a meeting for sex with the 13-year-old. As the actor arrived at the spot decided by him and the supposed boy in Salt Lake City, he was arrested by the Police and members of the FBI Child Exploitation Task Force. As per the records, the actor has been arrested for attempting to entice, seduce or lure a minor by internet or text and will be facing four counts of dealing in materials harmful to minors.
On the same, Disney then shared a statement announcing the resignation of Westmoreland, "Given the nature of the charges and our responsibility for the welfare of employed minors, we have released him from his recurring role and he will not be returning to work on the series which wraps production on its third season next week." No comments have been shared by the accused actor. Stoney Westermore is famously known for his role as Andi Mack's grandfather in the popular Disney show.
