The trailer of Huma Qureshi's much-awaited Netflix series, Leila is here. The series which is based on Prayaag Akbar’s book a by the same name. With a dystopian concept at its fore, the Deepa Mehta directed series is set in six episodes and has Huma Qureshi playing the character of a mother in search of her daughter. The series also stars Siddharth in a lead role. Leila is set in a digitised city that is obsessed with the concept of 'purity'. In the series, Huma Qureshi plays the character of a strong woman, Shalini. In a society that is highly indulgent in caste and religious segregation, Shalini struggles in search of her mixed-race daughter. Sharing the trailer of the series, Huma wrote, "Can't wait for you guys to see this one! #Leila, coming soon." The trailer looks super intriguing and has Arif Zakaria playing a Godman or something on those lines. Leila has been a great opportunity for Huma and at a recent event, she even spoke about it saying, “'Leila' has been a fantastic Netflix project to work on. I'm thrilled to be essaying Shalini, whose unique mix of strength, grace and optimism is what gets her through all kinds of obstacles. So it really has been an honour to portray a character that has not only pushed me as an artist but I believe will resonate with a lot of young women.”

With the success of Netflix original series such as Sacred Games starring Saif Ali Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui in lead roles, the steaming platform is becoming the new sensation. Leila's release date is yet to be announced but looking at the trailer, it sure looks like it is going to be binge-worthy.
