New Delhi, June 5: In a major development, the Election Commission of India (ECI) on Tuesday announced that Assembly election in Jammu and Kashmir will be held considered later this year. The EC will announce the election schedule after the conclusion of Amarnath Yatra. The Amarnath Yatra will start on July 2 and conclude on August 15.

Navi Mumbai's Uran area has been put on high alert after texts praising Islamic State were found scribbled on one of the pillars of a bridge on Tuesday. The texts on the Khopte Bridge's pillar in Raigad district praised IS terrorists and mentioned names of Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi and other terrorists, reported India Today. 

On Tuesday, ISRO satellites were pressed into service to locate the Indian Air Force's AN-32 transport aircraft. The satellites were activated over parts of Arunachal Pradesh and Assam to locate the missing AN-32 transport aircraft with 13 people on board. Apart from the ISRO satellites, Su-30MKI, C-130J Super Hercules and Naval aircraft are continuing search operations in cloudy weather in the northeastern state.
