Mumbai, December 11: The result of the Ahmednagar municipal corporation (AMC) election 2018 will be declared today. Counting of votes to elect 68 members of Ahmednagar Mahanagar Palika in Maharashtra will begin at 10 am. Polling to elect 68 members of Ahmednagar municipal corporation was held on Sunday. Around 67 per cent registered voters exercised their franchise in Ahmednagar Mahanagar Palika Chunav. A total of 339 candidates are in the fray for 68 seats of the civic body. The Congress and NCP contested the election in an alliance and together fielded 64 candidates - 44 of NCP and 20 of Congress. Dhule, Ahmednagar Civic Polls Register 67% and 60% Voting Respectively.
While the BJP fielded a maximum of 67 candidates, Shiv Sena declared candidates on 60 seats. In Ahmednagar municipal corporation, 18 of the 68 member-civic body belong to the NCP, 11 Congress, nine BJP, 17 Shiv Sena, four MNS and nine independents. The result of Ahmednagar Mahanagar Palika Chunav will determine the political future of Congress leaders Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil, Balasaheb Thorat and Satyajit Tambe.
