Ahmedabad, September 4: Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday was admitted to KD hospital in Ahmedabad. Shah underwent a minor surgery for lipoma on the back of his neck.  The Home Minister was discharged from hospital after the surgery. "He was successfully operated on for lipoma on the back of the neck under local anaesthesia. After this minor surgery, he was discharged," The BJP said, quoting from the hospital's statement. A lipoma is a slow-growing, fatty lump that is most often situated between the skin and the underlying muscle layer. Amit Shah Recovering From Swine Flu, to Be Discharged From AIIMS in a Day or Two, Says Anil Baluni.

 

Earlier in January also, Shah was admitted to All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) after he was down with swine flu. Amit Shah Admitted in Hospital:

On Tuesday, met the delegation of village heads of Kashmir Valley at his North Block office. He assured the delegation of restoring communications in the region according to the situation and full statehood when normalcy returns. The Home Minister also promised to provide security as well as a Rs two lakh life insurance cover to each panch and sarpanch in the newly-created Union Territory.
