Bristol Eye Hospital in England believes the boy’s case to be the first of its kind in the United Kingdom. The researchers have published a detailed report on Jake’s condition. The doctor who treated the teen explained that the lack of vitamins in his diet had caused severe damage to his optic nerve, as reported by Live Science. It connects the eye to the brain, and the 17-year-old was diagnosed with a condition called Nutritional Optic Neuropathy (NON). Such kind of medical situation is mostly seen in Africa and other underdeveloped countries; the report further adds.
