WWE star and the co-winner of Tough Enough III, Matt Cappotelli passed away on Friday at the age of 38. He shared Tough Enough III victory with John Hennigan who later went on get known as John Morrison. The news of his death was shared by Lindsay Cappotelli, the wife of Matt.

She took to Facebook and wrote, “Today my love-my strong, sweet, beautiful love-took his last breath at 3:30 a.m. and went Home to be with Jesus exactly one year after his brain surgery.” Many WWE stars extended their condolences. John Morrison wrote, “My first best friend in the wrestling business and to this day one of the best people I’ve ever known Matt Cappotelli has passed on.  I’m gutted about this news.  Matt inspired everyone around him especially me early in my career.  He is loved and will be missed.”

“He is in a better place now no more pain and suffering anymore he is with Jesus and God my family will protect him and my Daddy will be with him and he will be looking down on everyone down for above may be rest in peace Matt,” read another post.

He suffered from cancer earlier and spoke publically about his battle with the disease. “Life is the most precious gift we’re given. If I can inspire others to not give up on the life they’ve been blessed to have, that’s what I’m trying to spread – hope,” he said.
