Today marks the beginning of the Chinese New Year. The Chinese New year 2019 is going to be the year of the pig and to mark the event Pokemon Go has launched a Lunar New Year event which is related to the Chinese Zodiac Symbols. Starting today, it will go on till February 13th. It has 12 different Pokemon which are symbolic to the 12 zodiac symbols of the astrology. Players will get to see more of Rattata, Ekans, Mankey, Electabuzz, Ponyta, Dratini, Mareep, Miltank, Torchic, Poochyena, Spoink, and Buneary. Along with that, there will also be a double XP for catching and evolving that particular Pokemon. Players can also get a lucky Pokemon after they make a trade move. The developers have thus added a task which focuses on the trading of Pokemon with the other trainers that are playing. The Pokemon Go Lunar New Year event will also have a new Shiny Pokemon, a version of Spoink. This Shiny Spoink Pokemon will be light peach in color and have a dark grey ball on its head. Pokemon Spoink was chosen to mark the beginning of the Year of the Pig. So enjoy the festive time of the year by catching all the extra Pokemon and see if you get lucky here.
