New Delhi [India], August 7 (ANI): Former Prime Minister and Member of the Rajya Sabha HD Devegowda met with Union Health Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National President JP Nadda in New Delhi on Wednesday.

During their meeting, they exchanged ideas on legislation and key political developments.

Taking to X, Devegowda said, "I met Union Health Minister and BJP President Shri JP Nadda avaru in New Delhi, today. We had a free exchange of ideas on some legislations and key political developments."

Earlier today, Devegowda also met with the Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah here. They discussed various issues related to Karnataka.

"I had a cordial meeting today with Home Minister Shri Amit Shah avaru. We discussed various issues related to Karnataka," he said in X.

HD Devegowda was sworn in as the 11th Prime Minister of India after he resigned from the post of Chief Minister of Karnataka in 1996.

He also served as the Leader of the Opposition in the Karnataka Assembly, from March 1972 to March 1976 and November 1976 to December 1977.

Devegowda became the President of the Janta Party twice at the state level and President of the State Janata Dal in 1994.

He was a driving force behind the Janata Dal's rise to power in the state in 1994. He was elected as the leader of the Janata Dal Legislative Party and in December he assumed office as the 14th Chief Minister of Karnataka. (ANI)
