Mumbai, May 7 (PTI) NCP president Sharad Pawar on Friday urged Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray to provide concessions in electricity bills and waiver in property tax to the hospitality sector amid the coronavirus- induced restrictions.
Pawar's party is part of the Maha Vikas Aghadi government led by Thackeray.
In a letter to the CM, Pawar said FL-3 licence hotels and permit bars should be allowed to pay excise duty in four weeks, adding that the Centre had announced emergency credit line guarantee scheme (ECLGS), whose scope was extended till June 30 to cover the hospitality, travel, tourism, leisure and sports sectors.
The NCP chief said the Maharashtra government must announce a similar scheme for the tourism and hospitality sectors, both of which have been hit by the 'break the chain' curbs in place.
