Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], August 27 (ANI): Jashn-e-Adab Sahityotsav Cultural Kaarva’n Virasat 2023 commenced on Saturday at Tagore Hall Srinagar.

The three-day extravaganza, organised in association with the Ministry of Culture (GoI) and Jammu & Kashmir Tourism, seeks to celebrate India's 75th Independence Year 'Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsava' and honour the nation's chairing of the G20 Summit.

The opening ceremony was graced by eminent personalities including Dr Syed Abid Rasheed Shah, IAS (Secretary, Tourism & Culture, J&K), Padma Shri Prof Ashok Chakradhar (President, Jashn-e-Adab Sahityotsav), distinguished poet Khushbir Singh Shaad, and Kunwar Ranjeet Chauhan (Founder, Jashn-e-Adab Sahityotsav).

Legendary figures and artists have converged to mark this occasion including acclaimed actor Manu Rishi Chaddha, Qawwal Shafi Sopori, Ghazal Singers Munir Ahmad Mir & Saima, Rabab Player Noor Mohammad Shah, Folk Singer Gulzar Ahmad Ganai, and many more. The event features captivating performances and discussions that reflect the diverse facets of Hindustani cultural heritage.

The programme will continue at the same venue on Sunday and on the moving boat 'Bul Bul Donga' on August 28.

Founder of Jashn-e-Adab Sahityotsav, Kunwar Ranjeet Chauhan, expressed his excitement about the event's Srinagar edition, stating, "Srinagar is the symbol of the glory of Hindustan and our rich cultural heritage. We are honoured and humbled to have the opportunity to bring this event to Srinagar."
