New Delhi [India], October 22 (ANI): A team of the Special Commando of Manipur Police has apprehended three Myanmarese nationals under suspicious circumstances as tensions flared in and around Moreh town.

Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh on Sunday, in a post on X said that the trio is suspected of stealing furniture items and electric generators from the houses which were burnt down during the recent clashes.

The accused were apprehended by the security forces while conducting foot patrolling in and around Moreh town around 9 am today.

Manipur CM further said that the trio were handed over to the Moreh Police Station for thorough verification.

They have been identified as Khamkhenthang Guite 25, Aung Mae 30 and Aung Aung 25.

"This happened when some particular organizations were objecting and protesting against the deployment of state police and commandos at Moreh town," Manipur CM said.

He further said that the Manipur government cannot keep silent on such an alarming issue of illegal migration.

"It is apparent that these organizations do not want the presence of state forces in Moreh so that many of these Myanmarese can be brought into the country. The state government cannot keep silent on such an alarming issue of illegal migration," he added. (ANI)
