Sambhal (Uttar Pradesh) [India], September 23 (ANI): Two people were arrested in Uttar Pradesh's Sambhal district for registering a fake robbery case, the police said.

According to the police, Abhilash Saini, one of the accused, who works as a collection agent for Fusion Micro Finance Company, filed a complaint at Rajpura police station on September 15, claiming that his mobile and Rs. 60,000 cash were looted from him by two people.

Further during the investigation, it was found that the accused had hatched a fake robbery case, they said.

Abhilash Saini, the accused, divulged that he and his friend Sanjeev Kumar, a resident of Muradabad, staged the robbery. Where the accused Abhilash gave his bag containing Rs 1.10 lakh along with his mobile phone to his friend Sanjeev and then filed a fake complaint against two people, SP Sambhal Kuldeep Singh Gunawat said.

Cash worth Rs 30,000, mobile, bag, and other things were recovered from Abhilash Saini, while cash worth Rs 12,000 were recovered from his friend Sanjeev, and the Rs 68,000 money that was deposited by him in the bank has been frozen, they said.

In this context, a case has been filed on behalf of the microfinance company, and both of the accused have been arrested and sent to jail, police said. (ANI)
