Doctor Erich Voight is reaping praises on social media for spotting a cancerous neck lump on a woman's throat while watching TV. Nicole McGuinness was looking for a beach house on HGTV's Beachfront Bargain Hunt when she received more than expected. Voight an ear, nose and throat doctor who spotted the lump on the woman's throat took to Facebook trying to reach the woman. He shared a clip from the show expressing his concern for McGuinness' health.

The woman who does not have a Facebook page said she was alerted about Voight's post by a mother's friend. Taking the advise the woman went ahead and got it checked. A biopsy confirmed that she had thyroid cancer and later went through treatment.

While McGuinness said that she was devasted to be diagnosed with cancer, she was glad she found out sooner than later. The life-saving act of the doctor soon began trending on social media. McGuinness was introduced to Voigt in person for the first time on Good Morning America on Tuesday.

In a similar incident in 2013, TV host of Flip or Flop, Tarek El Moussa,  was diagnosed with thyroid cancer after a nurse who watched the show told the producers of a lump on the host's throat.

On the show, McGuiness told Voigt, "I have gone through a lot these past couples of years, and never expected to have to be a two-time cancer survivor, but without you keeping a vigilant eye and watching that show, who knows how long I would have gone on without that being checked. So, from the bottom of my heart, thank you so much." Voigt replied saying, "I'm really happy to help. Doctors and nurses do this every day, and I'm happy to help."
