New Delhi [India], September 19 (ANI): Former Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain has moved a fresh bail plea in a money laundering case. He was produced before the Rouse Avenue court on Thursday after the expiry of his Judicial custody.

Special CBI judge Rakesh Syal has issued notice to the ED and sought a response. The court will hear the bail application on September 25. The court has listed the main case on October 5 for hearing.

Advocate Vivek Jain appeared for Satyendar Jain. Jain was arrested in May 2022 by the ED in a money laundering case.

Jain's pleas states that the Supreme Court has said that the accused can't be incarcerated for an indefinite time during the pendency of trial. Jain's default bail plea is pending before the Delhi High Court.

His earlier bail application and interim bail applications were dismissed by the trial court. However, he was granted Interim by the Supreme Court on health grounds.

Enforcement Directorate (ED) was arrested on 30 May 2022. He was sent to judicial custody after interrogation by the ED. (ANI)
