Porvorim (Goa) [India], October 12 (ANI): Goa Police busted a cricket betting racket and arrested three men during a raid in Porvorim on Wednesday, officials said.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of police under the supervision of SDPO Porvorim carried out the raid at a private bungalow at Alto Pilerne area and found the accused betting online over a cricket match between India and Afghanistan in World Cup 2023.

Mobile phones, a laptop, a Wi-Fi router and other articles worth Rs 1,00,000 were also seized from the accused persons, the police said.

The arrested accused were identified as Shankar (46), Rupesh (34), and R Kumar (32).

Officials said that all three accused persons have been arrested. A case under sections 3 & 4 of the Goa Daman and Diu Public Gambling Act has been registered against the accused trio, the police said.
