Shimla (Himachal Pradesh) [India], October 20 (ANI): Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, ahead of the festive season, has launched new products from Himachal Pradesh State Milk Producers Federation Limited (MILKFED) here at Oak Over on Friday.

It includes gift packs, wedding bhaji, and sugar-free sweets. These new gift packs will be available in three sizes, priced at Rs 620, Rs 1000, and Rs 1500, respectively, and will be available at all MILKFED sales centres and district headquarters.

The Chief Minister directed MILKFED to bring its products as per the requirements of the market and ensured that the state government would provide all possible assistance in producing quality products.

"A state-of-the-art milk processing plant is proposed at Dagwar in Kangra district with a cost of about Rs 226 crore, and various milk products would be produced there. Modern technology will be used in other plants as well", CM Sukhu said.

"The Congress Party, in its manifesto, had promised to buy cow milk at Rs 80 per kg and buffalo milk at Rs 100 per kg from the farmers, for which the Milkfed plant is being modernised," remarked the Chief Minister.

Managing Director of MILKFED, Vikas Sood, apprised the Chief Minister that special attention was being paid to the high quality of all the products. Considering the demand for sugar-free sweets, MILKFED has launched these products, and Milk Cake, Pahadi Barfi, and Coconut Barfi, along with 16 other types of sweets, will be available in the market as well.

Industries Minister Harshwardhan Chauhan, Director Information and Public Relations Rajiv Kumar, and other dignitaries were present on the occasion, among others.

Himachal Pradesh State Milk Producers Federation was formed to organise Milk Producers Cooperative Societies and to provide a remunerative market to the Milk Producers' for their surplus milk at their door steps and to ensure availability of milk and milk products in adequate quantity and reasonable prices to the Urban milk consumers.
