Chandigarh (Punjab) [India], June 13 (ANI): The Anti Gangster Task Force of Punjab has arrested an operative of jailed Gangster Deepak Tinu on Thursday, Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav said adding that one pistol and five live cartridges have been recovered.

"In a major breakthrough, Anti Gangster Task Force (#AGTF) has been successful in arresting Vijay, a resident of #Memandpur, SAS Nagar, an operative of jailed Gangster Deepak Tinu, an associate of Lawrence Bishnoi & Foreign-based Terrorist Goldy Brar Gang," the Punjab DGP said.

"Arrested accused has criminal background with several heinous crime cases registered against him in #Punjab & #Haryana," he added.

The DGP further said that as per preliminary investigations, the arrested accused was tasked by his jailed or foreign handlers to kill members of the rival Bambiha Gang.

Deepak Tinu is an aide of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and is one of the main accused in the killing of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala.

According to the police, the Bambiha Gang is involved in multiple heinous crimes such as murder, threats, extortion, ransom and many other criminal activities in several districts of Punjab. (ANI)
