Jaipur, Jul 19 (PTI) The station house officer (SHO) of Shahpura police station in Jaipur district allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself today, an officer said.

SHO Virendra Singh shot himself with a pistol at his quarter behind the police station, he said.

The quarter has been cordoned off and a team of Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) has been called to examine the scene and collect samples, Superintendent of Police (Rural) Rameshwar Singh told PTI.

The reason behind the suicide is not yet clear.

"It's too early to comment on reasons behind the incident," the SP said.
