Former Prime Minister and Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee, who was admitted in AIIMS on Monday, is respondin well to the treatment and may be discharged in a few days said AIIMS Director Dr Randeep Guleria while releasing the health bulletin of the former Prime Minister.

Atal Bihari Vajpayee was admitted on 11 June. It was initially said by the BJP and hospital management that he was admitted for routine check-up but later  it was reported that he was being treated for urinary tract infection and also underwent slow dialysis.

The health bulletin also said that "Atal B Vajpayee has shown significant improvement in last 48 hrs. His kidney function is back to normal, heart rate,respiratory rate & BP also normal, they're being maintained without support. Hopefully he'll make full recovery in next few days, overall his health is good".

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also visited the former Prime Minister to check on his health.

According to the medical bulletin he is now without any life support, and has shown good improvement by responding well to the treatment in the last 48 hours. The director confirmed that all the other parameters were normal and they hoped that the former PM will recover well and soon.
