New Delhi, July 9: Even after almost a week to the mysterious Burari deaths in the national capital, the Delhi Police is trying hard to crack one of the most sensational cases in the recent times. According to a report by Hindustan Times, one member of Burari family had tried to save himself at the last minute but was unsuccessful in his attempt.

According to the report, a police officer said the body of 50-year-old Bhavnesh Bhatia, who was found hanging along with eight other members of his family, was found with his hand near the throat. This suggested that he may have been trying to escape death but was unsuccessful.

According to details by a Police officer, the forensic experts are of the opinion that Bhavnesh unsuccessfully tried to free himself from the noose. The report further informs that his hands were also found to be loosely tied which made experts believe that he had attempted to untie himself.

On July 1, 11 members of the Burari-based Chundawat family were found dead under mysterious circumstances inside their house. Ten of the 11 members of the deceased family was found hanging from an iron-mesh in the ceiling, while the body of 77-year-old Narayan Devi, the head of the family, was lying on the floor in another room of the house. Her daughter Pratibha (57) and her two sons Bhavnesh (50) and Lalit (45) were among the deceased.

According to a PTI report, Bhavnesh's wife Savita (48) and their three children - Maneka (23), Neetu (25), and Dhirendra (15) were also found dead. The others who were found hanging were Lalit's wife Tina (42), their 15-year-old son Dushyant and Pratibha's daughter Priyanka, who was engaged last month and was supposed to get married by year-end.

According to a video that went viral, their faces were covered in pieces of white cloth and mouths taped and hands and legs tied. The family matriarch was found lying in another room with ligature marks on her neck. The Delhi Police is now awaiting the post-mortem report so that they can initiate the process of a psychological autopsy.
