Smelly socks have resulted in a man contracting lung infection in China. The unnamed person was taken to hospital after he had a severe fungal infection in his lungs. Reportedly, it was caused by his habit of smelling his own socks at the end of his long day at work. It seems the man from Zhangzhou, in South-eastern China's Fujian province, used to sniff his used socks every day. He used to inhale the smell deeply.

Due to the bizarre habit, fungus from his foot entered his lungs causing the infection. An X-ray report confirmed his lungs were in bad state and needed immediate treatment. He is currently undergoing medication for the same. US Man Coughs Up Blood Clot Shaped Like His Lungs! Bizarre Pic Goes Viral.

Earlier this month, a man died after coughing up part of his lung. Photo of his bronchial tree went viral on social media sites. The 36-year-old man with a history of heart disease was admitted to hospital with heart failure, but died during his first week of treatment. During one of the coughing fits, he coughed up a bronchial tree, which is a series of tubes that distribute air from the windpipe to the lungs.
