Ahmedabad, Jul 21 (PTI) Ahmedabad reported 199 new coronavirus cases on Tuesday, taking its tally to 24,767, the Gujarat health departmentsaid.

With six new fatalities, the COVID-19 death toll in the district rose to 1,557, it said.

With 205 patients getting discharged from hospitals, the number of recovered people rose to 19,413, thehealth department said in a release.

Ahmedabad city recorded 187 new cases, while rural parts of the district reported 12 infections, it said.

Five of the fatalities were from the city and one from a rural area, the department said.
