Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala) [India], October 18 (ANI): VD Satheesan, Leader of Opposition in Kerala assembly, said on Wednesday that the credit for Vizhinjam International Deepwater Multipurpose Seaport should go to former Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and alleged that the CPI-M government had delayed the project.
He accused Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan of delaying the work in the Vizhinjam port.

Vijayan on Sunday inaugurated the ceremony in Vizhinjam port in connection with the arrival of the first vessel, Zhen Hua 15, from China. Satheesan was also present on the occasion
The Congress leader said that the vessel that came in Vizhinjam port "was not ship but crane" and claimed that it would take two years to commission the port.

"To announce the arrival of this crane, the state government has spent Rs 1.5 crore. The government has nothing to show as achievement," Satheesan alleged while addressing a gathering of UDF workers here.
"The Chief Minister cannot claim anything on Vizhinjam port. The reason why this port has been realised is Oommen Chandy. When he (Oommen Chandy) was working for this port, they [CPI(M)], alleged there was a big scam. They also alleged that Oommen Chandy was doing real estate business," he added. (ANI)
