New Delhi [India], October 14 (ANI): The Delhi High Court on Monday issued notice to the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on the bail plea of Popular Front of India (PFI)'s former national coordinator Ibrahim Puthanathani, who is in custody for last two years.
The division bench of Justices Prathiba M Singh and Amit Sharma issued notice to NIA and sought a response within two weeks.

The next date of hearing is November 11.
Advocate Kartik Venu, counsel for Ibrahim Puthanathani appeared through video conferencing. He submitted that the petitioner has been in custody for the last two years.
His earlier bail application was dismissed by the trial court at Patiala House, New Delhi. He was arrested in 2022.
Earlier, he was granted 6 hours of custody parole in June 2023.
He was booked in a terror case by NIA in April 2022 under the anti-terror law Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA). He and several other PFI leaders have been charged sheeted by the NIA.
It is alleged that the accused persons hatched a conspiracy to collect funds for committing terror activities in the country. They were also allegedly running terror camps.
Several PFI leaders were arrested by NIA in a nationwide crackdown after the central government had declared the PFI a banned organisation under UAPA on September 28, 2022. (ANI)
