Guwahati (Assam) [India], April 23 (ANI): Sanjeev Sanyal, a member of the Centre's Economic Advisory Council and an eminent economist, will deliver the 9th Professor Sarat Mahanta Memorial Lecture on May 1 at the Royal Global University auditorium in Guwahati.

Sanyal, a globally acclaimed economist and a leading historian, will deliver a lecture on the topic 'BHARAT VARSHA: The Origins of Our Civilizational Identity'.

Assam Governor Gulab Chand Kataria will inaugurate the lecture, which is being organised by Prof. Sarat Mahanta Foundation in collaboration with Royal Global University.

Last year, in October, Sanyal visited Nagaland during which he focused on "catalysing economic growth" and "development" in the region, according to an official release.
