Gurugram, Feb 16 (PTI) Residents of Chintels Paradiso housing complex, which partially collapsed killing two women last week, have demanded the arrest and cancellation of passports of the firm's directors.

They charged the Gurugram police with shielding the builder and other functionaries by not naming them in the FIR.

Handing out a nine-point demand letter to local MLA Rakesh Daultabad, who visited the residents, they demanded an investigation into the entire incident along with the alleged malpractices of the builder under the direct supervision of the Punjab and Haryana High Court.

They said they wanted the court to even supervise the structural audit which will be conducted by IIT-Delhi.

Besides these, the residents demanded the cancellation of the Haryana Real Estate Regulatory Authority (HRERA) license granted to Chintels India group.

Further, they demanded adequate compensation to all the flat owners in the society in the form of buyback at the prevailing market rate prior to February 10 or flats in other equivalent and structurally safe societies.

Last week, the dining room floor of a sixth-floor apartment at Chintels Paradiso building in Sector 109 came down, triggering the collapse of roofs and floors directly under it, till the first floor. Two women were killed in the incident.

District town planner RS Bhath, who is stationed in the society, said repair work has begun on Tuesday and most of it was completed.

“The shifting of families has started and we will accommodate all 34 flat owners by the end of this week,” Bhath told PTI.
