Hyderabad, May 6 (PTI) Telangana reported6,026 fresh COVID-19 cases taking the tally to over 4.75 lakh while the toll stood at2,579 with 52 more casualties, the state government said on Thursday.

The silver lining is that the recoveries outnumbered fresh infections for the fourth consecutive day thus reducing overall positive cases in the state.

From May 1, the total number of fresh positive cases stood at 32,394 while the recoveries were at 33,884, according to the figures given by the State health Department.

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) accounted for the most number of cases with 1115, followed by Medchal Malkajgiri (418) and Rangareddy (403), a government bulletin said, providing details as of 8 PM on May 5.

The state has 77,127 active cases and over 79 thousand samples were tested on Wednesday.

The total number of cumulative cases in the state stood at 4,75,748 while with 6,551 patients being cured, the total recoveries were at 3,96,042.

Cumulatively, over 1.33 crore samples have been tested.

The samples tested per million population was over 3.58 lakh, the bulletin said.

The case fatality rate in the state was 0.54 per cent, while it was 1.1 per cent at the national level.

The recovery rate in Telangana was 83.24 per cent, while it was 82 per cent in the country.PTI GDK SS
