Agartala (Tripura) [India], October 22 (ANI): Nine students and one teacher were injured in an accident that took place near Raj Bhavan at the circuit house on Tuesday.

The accident occurred after a vehicle hit the divider on VIP road resulting in injuries to ten people.

According to the police, the accident took place when a passenger vehicle lost control its control. It was enroute to Kamalghat from Agartala.

The emergency services including the firefighters promptly rushed the injured to GB Hospital.

The hospital sources have indicated that one victim has suffered severe injuries and is currently in critical condition, receiving medical care.

Inspector Susanta Deb, Officer in Charge of NCC PS, reported that around 9:00 to 9:30, the police received information about a major crash and mentioned that the vehicle had been seized for further investigation.

"This morning, at around 9:00 or 9:30, we received information that a commander jeep was travelling from Radhanagar to a college. Unfortunately, the vehicle struck an iron road divider in front of the old governor's house, resulting in injuries to 10 college students. Our police team responded, transporting the injured students to GP Hospital for treatment. We have since seized the vehicle, bearing the registration number TR01F2058, and brought it to the station for further investigation."
