Mainpuri (Uttar Pradesh) [India], September 24 (ANI): A woman and her one-year-old daughter were electrocuted to death in Uttar Pradesh's Mainpuri, the police said on Sunday. 

The incident took place in the Nabiganj village under the Bewar police station in Mainpuri.

The deceased were identified as Priyanka Rajput, and her daughter Palak Rajput. 

"Today morning, Priyanka and her daughter Palak were alone at their home. The mother along with her daughter went to use the mono block for water where they came in contact with the electric current and died on the spot", said Rajesh Kumar, Police Commissioner, Mainpuri.

"Later, their neighbour entered their house and spotted them and informed the locals", added the Police Commissioner. 

He further said that the deceased Priyanka's husband, Anil Rajput, lives in Gujarat's Ahmedabad for job purposes. 

Meanwhile, the deceaseds' bodies have been set for the post-mortem.
