A sub-inspector in Kannauj, Uttar Pradesh, has been suspended for allegedly demanding a bribe using ‘potatoes’ as a code word. The officer, Ram Kripal Singh, was caught in a viral audio recording asking a farmer for 5 kg of ‘potatoes’ to settle a case. When the farmer offered 2 kg instead, the officer insisted on 3 kg, leading to a deal.
