ISRO successfully launched India's second mission to moon Chandrayaan 2 on Monday. Chandrayaan 2 is expected to make the landing on moon's surface on September 6 or 7. If the soft-landing is successful, this would make India the fifth nation -- after the United States, Russia, Japan and China -- to successfully make a soft-landing on the moon's surface.

United States President Donald Trump on Monday met visiting Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan at the White House to discuss an array of issues, ranging from trade between the two nations to crack down on terrorism in South Asia region. During their meeting, Trump reportedly offered to mediate between India and Pakistan on the Kashmir territorial row. Trump claimed that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi had also pitched him for aid in resolving the Kashmir border dispute.
