Bhopal, January 20: Former Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan has warned the Kamal Nath led Congress government in the state of protests "on the streets by the BJP" if it takes the recent killings of BJP workers "lightly". The former CM has demanded a CBI inquiry in the alleged killing of a BJP worker in Mandsaur. Earlier in the day today, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Manoj Thackeray was found dead Sunday, in a field in Warla police station limits. He had gone missing after he went for his morning walk. Shivraj Singh Chouhan questioned the Congress government and said that "Congress used to talk of change but what change is this? Murders have started here, there was one in Indore, then in Mandsaur where a BJP leader was killed, another BJP leader killed in Barwani. Criminals are fearless today. Law and order has completely collapsed."

Janata Party (BJP) leader Manoj Thackeray was found dead in the fields of Warla village on Sunday, less than a week after Mandsaur Municipal Corporation President Prahlad Bandhwar was shot dead. Bandhawar, chairman of the Mandsaur Municipal Council, was shot dead by an unidentified person on Thursday, January 17. While BJP leader and national general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya met the family of Prahlad Bandhwar, the BJP leader who was allegedly shot dead on January 17, 2019, in Mandsaur. The family has demand a CBI investigation. "If this is not investigated (case), then some other representative of the people can be targeted next", said the family.
