A recent study revealed that sex is less likely and less satisfying for women in their older age. The survey revealed, that the primary reason for lack of sexual activity was a lack of a partner, most often due to "widowhood and other reasons included a partner’s sexual dysfunction and the woman’s own physical and/or mental health problems." The study says that only 22.5 percent of the women, whose ages ranged from 50 to 75, said they had had intercourse in the preceding month and 34.5 reported being sexually active. One of the primary reasons for so many not having sex is the lack of an intimate partner the percentage of which was about 65.3 percent.
